I figured it was time to capture Darcy’s undying interest in Mauri’s return.

Here’s her “I hear him on the steps” pose. I can’t compete with that, so why try? Well, I’m the only one of us that he lets kiss him on the lips. Otherwise, Darcy’s welcome-home greeting beats mine, hands down.

And here at our annual Thanksgiving service at George Fox’s Bauman Auditorium. They sang their little hearts out!

No picture of their final tour concert at Friendsview Retirement Community Vespers earlier this evening. But Mauri said they finished strong.

Every year since 1969 I’ve sent out a Christmas letter. One of this tradition’s advantages turned out to be staying connected to the Macys. Of course I couldn’t have known where that connection would eventually lead. But I faithfully put down our family news on paper. Sometimes I refer to the collection to remember where we were when or what we did where. I don’t even think about whether I’ll write a letter—I just do it. Electronic Christmas letters are much easier to “mail.” Mark that off my list!
