and it was!

It was a particularly good family day, as brother Daryl, Mom Edna, Mauri, and I headed south to Salem to attend Uncle Francis’s memorial service. I’m so grateful to him for providing yet another op to connect with our extended family. I know, I know….it’s supposed to be about him. And it was! But you need to know that Uncle Francis was one of those who not only remembered the names of each of my “kids” but expressed specific and sincere interest in what each one was doing. Every time we talked. So he would not have tried to steer my attention to himself.
We got there in time to usurp our advanced position in life.
A few of the cousins we got to see—Doug, Ron, and Leane
Cousins Bill and Janet
and cousin Kathy—all from Aunt Madell’s side of the family.
And of course my three travel companions. Mom’s following her son’s instruction to look up.
Here’s Uncle Francis living life as if it were his last day on earth. And, as it turned out, it was!

I like that it’s your family (our family) not Mauri’s family. Sign of an open heart.
My kind of guy….wish I’d known him!
