Last October our friends Mark and Jan Thompson invited us to attend Coffee Fest up in Seattle. We looked at sexy roasters like this one:
Since then, Mark and Jan have purchased their own roaster. Needing a properly zoned place to do business created a challenge. But today we visited their shop in Dundee and watched Eli, their son, operate the red monster.
Through the peep hole we could watch the green beans change to brown beans as the roasting progressed.
Then out the chute to the cooling bin.
The second batch caused a chalkboard-grating sound (multiplied by 20),
…so Jan fixed it.
