a book for oscar
Posted by Sherry on June 2, 2011
Just before we left for Philadelphia, I saw this post on one of the blogs I follow. Perfect timing!
When we weren’t out doing something fun, I was inside having fun photographing Oscar’s toys. Once I had enough combinations, I started putting the book together—two up on 8.5×11, leaving a little extra room on the inside of each page for the binding.
At the office today (I went in early) I printed off the pages on card stock.
Then I cut them in half.
I use this comb binder to put together our church directories. I’m lucky to have access to all the necessary gear.
Next I used the corner rounder (I don’t know what it’s really called) that I use for our laminated retreat name tags. I hope rounding the corners will make the book last longer, less dog-eared.
Then the binding.
Ready to mail! One for now, one for later.
In case you want to make a book for your kid or grandkid, I thought I’d include the pages I made to help get your creative juices flowing.

Sherry, You are amazing! What lucky grandchildren you have.

WHAT A GREAT IDEA!!!
So sweet! My great grandma, Nana Fantz, made me a cloth activity book when I was a baby, and I still cherish it!!
Very, very cool! Both the idea and execution – outstanding.
Love this! Thanks for showing it.
You did a fabulous job. Your book really looks so professional.
Oh, Sherry, this is such a great gift for Oscar (and his parents). I love the way you express your creativity with fun and thoughtfulness. What an amazing lady you are!
You’re amazing! Enough said… PS: I pray for you & Mauri every time I see 11:11. Hugs from Michigan!
Absolutely amazing project. Is it bad if I admit I had trouble with the find the matches–until I scrolled up to see the puzzle on the next page. Oh duh!
A M A Z I N G. Wow, Sherry, that is so sweet. Your talent and most importantly your love shines through on every page.
You could be a children’s book author, Sherry! That was way more fun than at least half the books I read to my kids!
