only in a small town

On my way to work yesterday, I stopped at the post office to pick up the weekend mail. The streets were relatively quiet, since it was a bank and post office holiday. At least that’s what I thought. Turns out the streets were empty for a different reason.
That’s the P.O. on the far left, and, yes, that’s a train right there in the street.
I was uncertain of the protocol for pulling out behind a train, but then this car led the way.
The cars on the main thoroughfare had to wait anyway, so I made my move.
Heigh ho, off to work I go…in the wake of a train—from a nice safe distance, you’ll notice.
