fish

Posted by Sherry on October 25, 2008

For a long time now I’ve had a fascination with fish. I used to enjoy keeping a bowl of gold fish, even had a fish tank at some point along the way. But I needed to give them a pinch of food every day and clean their environment every other year or so, and the care and upkeep just got to be too much. Now I’m satisfied to remember those days with fondness and occasionally walk among the fish tanks at the downtown Critter Cabana.

I like one-dimensional fish too. It’s taken me many hours throughout many years of paging through New Yorker Magazine and Gary Larson’s Far Side and Ziggy—to name a few—but I finally have what I would consider a decent collection of fishbowl jokes.

Visitors who use one of our bathrooms will often spend more time than necessary in there, then come out smiling because they’ve been reading fishbowl jokes on the wall.

Stop by sometime if you need a good laugh.

  1. Ah ha, now I understand the significance of the fish on the bathroom wall! All this time I thought it was just an ode to the wonderful, matchless cartoons of The New Yorker! :) Yet another thing I can add to my list of treats to keep an eye out for for Sherry!
