weather

I just snapped this picture of my dear man getting ready to grill some meat for supper.

Notice how the bright sun overexposed his face? Notice how squinty-eyed he is? Could you guess that just five minutes—FIVE minutes—before I took this picture we stood on the porch watching pea-sized hail fall from the heavens? That in itself would not be so unusual except that we’ve had back-and-forth weather like this for two days straight. Yesterday I sat in my office at the church and watched it rain, then hail, then sleet, then the sun would shine, then more rain, more hail, more sleet, then snow, then more sunshine. Crazy.
I’m not usually a weather watcher. I figure whatever it’s gonna do it’s gonna do. But even I have found our weather the last few days interesting.
Notice the moss all over that old apple tree? Do you think it has something to do with the weather in Oregon?
It has been super bizarre, hasn’t it. We were looking out our third-floor windows watching the snow progress towards us. It was fairly surreal.
I’m like you, the Oregon weather doesn’t usually garner much attention from me. But I’ve found myself saying several times in the past few days, “This is the weirdest weather!” Never a dull moment!
I met your family today! Well, all but the oldest daughter (I don’t know her name). I could recognize Cassidy anywhere!
I’ll post a picture soon of my pile of diapers!
Amy, I’d have a hard time expressing my joy over your fun connection to my Denver “kids.” Any time my two most recent lives touch I just smile and thank the good Lord for the special blessing. Thanks for the important part you’ve played in the Babies of Juarez project. What a great way for you to meet my family today.
It’s hailing on my Tigard house as I write. Yesterday I awoke in Pacific City to huge snowflakes falling from the early morning sky. Strange stuff.
