hooked

This photo, discovered on friend Craig’s blog, captured my interest. I can’t stop looking at it. So here’s my plan: post it on this blog so I can look at it any time I want for as long as I want.

You’re hooked too, aren’t you? Maybe you can help me figure out what intrigues me so about a foot circle.
That IS a fascinating picture!
Math is not my strength, but it looks to me like we are looking at a circle with about a 4 foot diameter, and a 42 foot circumference!
It’s a picture of children, and that is always going to grab my heart. But visually I’m drawn to the double curve - the circle, but also the smooth curve formed by their ankles. The color contrast of the soles of their feet adds to it.
I think it looks like a giant sunflower, that’s what attracts me. It’s a beautiful image of blooming youth!
I also see a flower, and I’m drawn to the pattern, the symmetry that occurs as we look into flowers from above. A “flower of humans” is all the more intriguing!
