Mauri still likes to experiment with his SLR digital Pentax, taking it to the nearby wildlife sanctuary on gray days like today to shoot what he sees through his telephoto lens. He needs to replenish the collection of heron shots he lost when his computer crashed a couple of months ago, so images like this end up as keepers.
Other times he just sits in his comfy chair here in the cookin’ room and aims his lens at me, usually promising to delete. A recent shot that he likes quite a bit and I find particularly repulsive, he won’t toss. I guess that’s fair. But once in a while I like one well enough to share, such as the one he snapped today on my lunch hour.
Now what appeals to me so much about this picture?
