another first

Last week my coworker walked into my office with a little map she had drawn showing “Nana’s house,” “Beth’s apartment,” and the spot her other daughter would soon be moving. She said, “You’re gonna hate me,” as she showed me how her two grandchildren will be living within a few blocks of her house.

I’ve always expected I’d be a long-distance grandparent, so I don’t “hate” Denise. Thankfully, our grandchildren’s parents work at making the distance between us bearable. Take today, for example, the first day of school. Dusty sent me this picture with a note that said: “The smiles on these girls lit up the entire hallway!”

…and then later they sent a link to a batch of first-day-of-school pix of all three little darlings.

  1. Every time I see a picture of Q with her children I see someone absolutely made to be a mother and enjoying it to the fullest. Wonderful!

  2. You have the MOST beautiful daughter and a precious granddaughter. You can see God’s love just sparkling in her eyes. A very lucky mom/grandmother indeed.
