happy birthday to me!

I’m officially a year older and it really is okay. Aging is part of the deal, right? This birthday, #62, was particularly enhanced by the arrival of people I have special interest in—my family! They came from Florida, Colorado, and California to begin a week of togetherness, first in Newberg and then (actually now) at the coast. We had a high enough number to reserve two big houses at Harbor Villa in Rockaway. So even though it’s cold here (the sun just appeared for the first time all day) we’ve enjoyed the bustle of little kids and the break from scheduled life. I’m sitting with my back to the beach, watching my niece fix supper, while the sun warms my neck. Life is good.
