road trip photo recap

Home again! Several days ago, actually, but I thought it would be fun to post a couple of miscellaneous pictures just for fun. So here goes…
We went all the way to Hartford, CT, to rent a car from Kentucky.
But we enjoyed the view of nine states from inside.
These Friends, Sarah and Pierre, opened their home in Providence, RI, to us through “The Traveling Friends Directory.” We carried with us a “traveling minute” from our church that stated we are members in good standing.
The next morning we walked a block to Providence Meetinghouse and attended an unprogrammed meeting with our hosts. That was a “first” for both of us.
That’s me inside the meetinghouse. Notice the arrangement of the pews.
Here’s the view of the Atlantic Ocean from the top of Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park near Bar Harbor, Maine. From here you can see 360 degrees. It’s the highest spot on the Atlantic north of Brazil…an amazing 1,500 feet elevation.

I took this picture of my dear man at the whaling museum on Nantucket. Macys and Quakers have a strong history on this island, a two-hour ferry ride from Hyannis, MA. Do you see a resemblance between these two Macys?
Rachel shows us her school. She just finished teaching fourth grade and now prepares to teach third grade next year.
For some reason they call this “Love Park.”
Rachel and John love to cook. What better place to dine than in the cool breeze on the front porch?

I just had to include this cute picture of John Williams.
In New England Dunkin Donuts are so popular that you can’t drive a mile without seeing a store. Each one has a long line waiting for its “famous” coffee and donuts. And we saw more than one defunct Krispee Kreme store. Go figure.
We thought we needed a picture of a Dunkin Donuts store but waited too long and had to snap this shot of the airport version. Oh well, it works.
That’s the end of my road trip photo recap. I hope you enjoyed the show.
Looks like a lot of fun!
